We are pleased to announce that Cllr Adam Mitchell has been reselected as the Conservative Candidate for Broadwater Division for the third time.
Adam is a lifelong Broadwater resident who has dedicated his time over the last 8 years to representing local people at County Hall in Hertford.
Adam is passionate about improving and enhancing the neighbourhood he has lived in for his entire life.
About Adam, in his own words:
I’ve lived in Broadwater all my life—over 40 years—and for the past 21 years I’ve called Longmeadow home with my wife and three children. For the last eight years, I’ve been proud to serve as your County Councillor, working hard to deliver real improvements for our community.
My background includes 15 years as a pensions administrator, and I now serve as Chairman of the Hertfordshire Pension Board, ensuring sound financial management for local government pensions. I also stay active as a member of my local karate club, recently achieving my brown belt in December 2024.
As your Councillor, I’ve delivered key projects for Broadwater, including:
Resurfacing Broadwater Crescent and Ashdown Road.
Fixing flooding on Hertford Road.
Improving damaged signage, stairs, and paving.
Restoring the number 8 (now number 18) bus service.
Using my Locality Budgets, I’ve supported vital projects like:
Clearing and rebuilding behind Oaks Cross Shops.
Contributing to heating improvements at St Peter’s Church.
Supporting the Marymead Spring Woodland Project.
Providing new benches and music equipment for Woolenwick Schools.
Looking ahead, I’ll fight to ensure any move to replace County and Borough Councils with a Unitary Council puts Broadwater residents first.
I’m committed to protecting local services, delivering infrastructure improvements, and making Broadwater an even better place to live.
With your support, I’ll continue to work hard for Broadwater.
