Many residents in Knebworth have for a while expressed concerns that they are not in favour of the adoption of the Local Plan because the current infrastructure in the village does not support the proposals being made.
We must ensure that we protect our village's rural character from unnecessary and inappropriate development.
An Extraordinary Council Meeting was held on Tuesday 8 November 2022 to decide whether the Local Plan for North Herts should be adopted. Cllr Tandi stood up for local people’s views and voted against the Local Plan. Unfortunately, the Plan was approved by the majority of the NHDC Councillors.
Cllr Tandi, like many Knebworth residents, was very disappointed with this outcome. There will however be further opportunities for the residents to voice their concerns when individual planning applications for the specific sites are brought before the Planning committee, in due course.
Cllr Tandi will work with local people to scrutinise and challenge any inappropriate applications to develop land in Knebworth.
