We are pleased to announce that Margaret Notley will be our candidate to contest Chells Manor Division at the May 2025 County Council elections.
Margaret has dedicated most of the last 28 year to public service in support of local people. She is keen to utilise her experience as a Borough Councillor to represent and secure improvements for the people of Chells Manor Division.
About Margaret, in her own words:
I have lived in Stevenage since 1956 and have grown up in the town, attending Longmeadow Infant and Junior Schools and Barnwell when it was a Secondary Modern School.
I married in 1975, had two children, a girl and a boy, who attended local Schools and then when onto Universities.
I have previously been a Stevenage Borough Councillor for a total of 28 years, serving on many committees, which has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience within Local Government, which I can take forward at County level.
During my time as a Borough Councillor I also had the honour of being The Mayor twice-2018-2019 and 2022-2023. Carrying out many Civic duties and engaging with the many wonderful organisations throughout our town. I have also for many years been a member of some of these organisations, The Stevenage, Ingelheim, Autun Twinning Association. The Stevenage Kadoma Link and a local Community Association. I have recently become a member of a Primary Care Patient Participation Group and a Trustee of the Stevenage District Scouts.
I have in the past been a School Governor, serving for over forty years.
I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends and supporting the Performing Arts.
